MN CPCU Virtual Meeting
Join MN CPCU for a virtual meeting on July 16, 2020 from 12-1 p.m.
Our speaker is Aaron Simon of the law firm Meagher + Geer. Aaron focuses his litigation practice on professional liability, insurance coverage, and complex general liability matters. For more than a decade, he has been a litigator with first-chair jury trial experience. Aaron has significant experience handling all facets of civil litigation in both state court and federal court, as well as appeals in Minnesota State Courts and the Eighth Circuit Court of Appeals.
He will discuss COVID-19’s impact on litigation and claims. He will discuss the following:
1. Increased time of resolution of claims due to delays in discovery and trials;
2. Use of Zoom and other virtual platforms for mediations, depositions, and hearings;
3. Shift to work-from-home for companies and law firms and how this is affecting claims and litigation; and
4. COVID-19 specific related claims including D&O claims for disclosure and related issues (e.g. various cruise ship suits), and the slew of business interruption and business income loss claims related to COVID-19.
As most of you know, our monthly meetings are usually held at a restaurant so you can get lunch while networking and learning. This year, we will be offering each participant a $15 Grubhub gift card to cover the cost of lunch during this event. Go ahead and use this money to support a local restaurant either at the time of the meeting or whenever it is convenient for you.
Please RSVP by the end of day on July 13, 2020. REGISTER HERE
