Hello Members and Friends
I’ve spent a majority of the year discussing education and the future of the insurance industry. As the year draws to a close, I thought it might be interesting to tackle insurance-related quotes or phrases that have stuck with me over the years.
Here they are, in no particular order.
- If a location has flooded once, it will flood again.
- If you haven’t reviewed a guideline or paper in a year, you’ll never look at it again.
- If a risk wants to commit fraud to secure insurance, it’s going to be very hard to catch them.
- If somebody tells you they’re not crazy, they probably are.
- Always try to tell a story.
- Always have options for your clients/insureds.
- If something doesn’t feel right, there’s probably something wrong.
- Insurance is financial protection: if you have assets, you need protection. If you don’t, then you don’t need insurance.
- If you can’t explain the coverage, you can’t expect the agent to do the same.
- At the end of the day, insurance is a promise that we’ll be there when something goes wrong.
- It’s tough to make a sale when you don’t have any numbers.
- I’ve got a lot of options for an ordinary risk, but I need options for one that’s not ordinary.
- It’s always about the relationship - people are drawn to people they like.
- Underwriting is like driving forward while looking in your rear-view mirror.
- As long as you’re doing the right thing for your clients, the money will come.
Now here’s your opportunity to reflect and think of quotes/phrases that have stuck with you. Why is that? Share the ones that have had an impact.
