Greetings members and friends!
The new year is in full swing and with that comes a fresh start and new goals to meet, both personally and professionally. I thought I would take some time to discuss educational opportunities that are available through CPCU both at a national and local level. Furthering your education and connecting with other professionals locally provide great stepping stones to completing those professional goals for 2019.
On the national level, The Institutes provides an extensive amount of live and pre-recorded webinars each month. The link below will take you to the main page to browse through the offerings they have at any given time. I have attended these in the past and the topics are interesting and often include “hot topics” in the industry. Another perk – you earn CPCU continuing education credit for each hour-long session you attend and it is automatically reported to The Institutes!
At a local level, the MN Chapter provides different educational opportunities throughout the year. These in-person gatherings are always a good time to connect with other CPCUs and witness first-hand the benefits of taking part in the local chapter. This is something that is very important to me – I would love to see increased attendance from engaged CPCUs at our events over the course of 2019. Each educational luncheon also qualifies for CPCU CE credit. Our next meeting will be a luncheon in March, co-sponsored by RIMS – look for more information on this event to hit the website soon!
Feel free to reach out to me if you are interested in learning more about further educational opportunities through CPCU. Just because the test taking is behind many of us doesn’t mean there isn’t always more to learn!
***If you are interested in learning more about how to keep you CPCU in good standing and what is all required for continuing education credits, The Institutes website does a great job of explaining at this link https://www.cpcusociety.org/education-events/earn-ce-credit
Stay safe and warm,
P.S. February is Insurance Careers Month - see other opportunities in this newletter.
